BONNER ~ Arliss Jean Hebert, 83, of Bonner, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Providence St. Patrick Hospital with her family by her side.

Arliss was born January 22, 1940 in Outlook, Montana, along with her twin sister Ardiss to Fern and Charley Betts.  At a young age, her family moved to the Potomac valley where she and her twelve siblings were raised along the Blackfoot River.  Arliss attended elementary school at Potomac and graduated from Missoula Country High School in 1959.  After high school, she went to work at the Florence Hotel in Missoula.  She loved her job and the people she worked with.

On September 4, 1961, she married Frank Hebert at St. Francis Catholic Church in Missoula.  The couple resided in Missoula for a short time before moving to Bonner where they raised their two children, Theresa and Mark.

Arliss stayed busy with many of her favorite past times like camping, fishing, playing cards, knitting, baking and an assortment of other hobbies and crafts, but the thing Arliss loved the most was spending time with her family and friends.

When her children got older, she returned to work, this time at Bonner elementary school as a cook in the cafeteria.  Arliss would go all out dressing up during the holidays, which the staff and especially the students would get a kick out of.  After her retirement at the young age of 54, she and Frank would spend much of their time at the cabin up Rock Creek, where the family and friends were always welcome.  In 2011, Arliss and Frank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking a cruise to Hawaii.

Although life has its blessings, it also comes with struggles, but Arliss always persevered no matter what, from a bout with cancer to the passing of her daughter Theresa and many more of her close family and friends.

Arliss was a loving wife, mother, grandma and friend.  She leaves behind her son Mark (Denise) Hebert of Bonner; grandchildren, Asha Wylie, Miles Wylie, Skylar Wylie, Talina Hawkins of Oregon, Ronnie (Jenny) Regan of Missoula, Melissa (Jarrad) Bache of Butte and one brother, Frank (Jamie) Betts of Spokane, Washington.

A Memorial Service for Arliss and Frank, who passed away October 31, 2020 will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Missoula.  Chaplain Dan Dixson will officiate.
