Obituary for Dakota James Jeffries

Dakota James Jeffries, 18, of Missoula, left us to be in a better stadium on Oct. 6, 2018. He went peacefully in his sleep to go see the umpires in the sky. He was born May 10, 2000, in Missoula.

A young man who always had a smile on his face, he could light up a room. He had an aura around him that made him shine. When around him, you couldn’t help but be happy and a be better person too.

Dakota was just starting his adult life. He graduated from Sentinel High School last June and was currently attending the University of Montana to become a diesel mechanic. Along the way he made so many friends.

He loved to do many things. Being outdoors was one of his many passions, but football was his life. His love for football, no matter the team, started as a little grizzly player, leading to be a Sentinel Spartan. From the Grizzlies to the New England Patriots, he never missed a game, either watching on TV or being on the sideline.

The tremendous love that Dakota had for everyone will be missed by all. He is survived by his mother, Susan Pugh; second mom, Michelle Oberhofer; dad, Mark Oberhofer; sisters Danica Mavity, Madisyn and Samantha Oberhofer; grandparents Sandy, Jim, Dar and Kathy. There are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, too many to mention.

Services will be held at Lolo Community Center Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 1 p.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Davis family for everything that they have done. He loved you very much.
