Obituary for Delphine McAfee

Delphine McAfee passed away at her home in Missoula on Dec. 15, 2016 with loving family by her side.
Delphine was born on May 31, 1921 in Roff, OK to Thomas and Della Gomer. She spent her childhood in OK and graduated from Roff Senior High School as valedictorian of her class.
On June 16, 1939 Delphine married Carl E. McAfee. They had three sons, Carl Wayne, Steve and Dennis. The family settled in Baytown, TX where Carl worked for Exxon and Delphine earned her teaching degree and taught elementary school. After retirement Carl and Delphine moved to Missoula where sons Carl W. and Steve lived.
Delphine enjoyed having grandchildren near- by and always had cake or cookies ready for when they visited. Although they lived in Missoula Carl and Delphine spent several months each year in Longview, TX with their youngest son, Dennis and his family.
Delphine was an active member of the Church of Christ, where her deep faith was an inspiration to many. She enjoyed opening up her home to family and friends for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations.
Delphine was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Carl E. McAfee in 1994.
She is survived by her sons; Carl W. (Neta Gail) McAfee, of Missoula, Steve McAfee, of Frenchtown, and Dennis (Cherry) McAfee, of Longview, TX, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great – great grandchildren.
Honey was a very special lady who was so loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 Pm on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
