Dr. William “Bill” Jay Docktor, 66, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, in Missoula of natural causes. He was born in Jamestown, North Dakota, on April 19, 1951. He moved to Montana in 1977 with his wife, Paulette, when he took a job as a professor of clinical pharmacy at the University of Montana and a part-time job at St. Patrick Hospital as a psychiatric clinician, and knew then that Missoula was home. Bill enjoyed traveling, spending time in the mountains, watching University of Montana women’s softball and basketball, and spending time with his two children, their spouses and his two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette; and two children Paul Docktor and Lisa Eggebeen and their families.
His memorial service will be held Thursday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a reception. Private family internment to follow. The family prefers donations to be made to the University of Montana Softball Diamond Club Foundation in lieu of flowers.
