Obituary for Florence Zentner

Florence Zentner died at the age of 87, 18 days before her 88th birthday on Halloween, on Saturday, the 13th of October. She was born Oct. 31, 1930, to Henry and Amelia Dickhaut. At an early age she worked in the family hotel/restaurant in North Dakota. Later she moved to Missoula and married Vincent LeRoy Zentner, May 15, 1949. Vincent passed away September 2009. They had three children, Robert (Vyonne), JoAnn (Floyd) Adams and Douglas (Kayleen).

Florence worked for 28 years as a custodian at the University of Montana, retiring from the Curry Health Center.

Florence loved to dance, camp, fish, garden, crafts, travel, and mostly loved to be with her children and their families during all the holidays, sports events, family events and loved having people over for dinner and card games. She had a tender heart and was not afraid to help the Missoula Food Bank and Kids Wish Network on a monthly basis. She was always there if you needed help.

She will be forever remembered by her nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren for her hard work, unique gifts, zesty personality and always being there for them. She is also survived by one special sister, Lydia Kallis, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Beehive Homes, House #1 and Partners in Homecare for their loving support and special care.

Viewing will be from Thursday, noon to 2 p.m. and services starting at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial, 7405 Mullan Rd. in Missoula.
