Obituary for John Jassek

Our beloved dad, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away Friday August 4, 2017 at home from natural causes at the age of 85.
John was born May 8, 1932 in Werner, ND to Margaret and Mike Jassek. He attended country school and in July of 1952 he enlisted in the US Army. He was discharged in 1954 and in 1955 he married his loving wife A. Jane Engel.
All three daughters were born in Bismarck, ND and in 1965 the family moved to Missoula. He started work as a millwright at Van Evans and retired from L.P.
One of his biggest joys was fishing at Georgetown Lake. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his fellow veterans. He looked forward to his oldest grandson, D.J. coming over and playing guitar with him. He also loved visiting with his three other grandsons; Shane, Nicholas, and Jeremy. He enjoyed his two best friends Sasha and Sadie.
Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the International Heart Institute, Dr. Murney and the entire hospice team. A very special thank you to Elaine and her whole family.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife Jane, his parents and seven siblings.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sandy Spencer of Missoula, Tammie and her husband Dennis Schneider of Missoula and Laura Schaible of Missoula, his grandsons D.J. Schneider, Shane Spencer and Nicholas and Jeremy Schaible. He is also survived by one brother, Joe Jassek of Bismarck, ND and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3PM to 7PM Wednesday Aug. 9 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Thursday August 10 at 11:00A.M. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, interment with full military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
