POTOMAC ~ Leland Eugene Hyslop, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, born on January 6, 1939 in Hamilton, MT; died on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

Lee lived a life full of adventure, dedication, and extensive service in the military.

 He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Josie, his parents, Leland (Blacky) Hyslop, and Evelyce McIlroy Hyslop Larson; sister Darlene Kay Ask and daughter Brenda Chaussee, leaving behind his sister Dorothy (Hyslop) and Neal Vandenburgh of Phoenix, AZ; his brother Larry and Cindy Hyslop of Elko, NV; 7 children, Barbara and Jeff Ebel, of Lewiston, ID; Brenda (deceased) and George Chaussee of Bigfork MT; Pamela and Kent Lorash of Billings MT, John Hyslop of Libby, MT, and Marc Syvertsen, Monique Siemons and Paul Syvertsen of New Jersey and his 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 After retirement from the United States Army, Lee and Josie moved to Potomac, MT to enjoy a life of gardening, woodworking, church and many volunteer organizations. Lee was president of the US Army Special Forces Association, chapter 28 in Montana, and in 1993, Lee co-founded the Greenough Potomac Fire Department in Potomac. A few years ago, planning to put together a book, Lee wrote an extensive history of his 35-year military career and his wife Josie’s military career in The Women’s Army Corps…. Arrangements are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula.
