MISSOULA ~ Lonna Rae Knight Fox, 74, of Missoula, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at her home at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation, of natural causes.
She was born on January 15, 1951, in Provo, Utah, to Ray and Dee Knight. Lonna’s childhood was filled with love and family gatherings throughout Utah. She cherished visits with her Grandma Pete, trips to see her Aunt Iris, and fondly remembered driving her Grandpa Pete’s Jeep, and drinking Coca-Cola and painting her nails with her Aunt Ivy
.In 1968, she endured an accident that forever changed her life, but she persevered with courage and resilience. Throughout her life she remained one of the strongest women anyone ever knew.
In 1972, she welcomed her daughter, Sarah, and embraced her role as a determined and caring mother. Nearly a decade later, in July of 1981, she met the love of her life, Mike Fox, at the St. Regis Street Dance. Together they built a loving life and family. A year later, they welcomed their son Ehrin. She especially loved taking trips with family and friends across the western United States, often enjoying camping and the outdoors.
Later in life, Lonna moved to Missoula to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she spoiled and adored deeply. She was always there to lend her heart and support, reminding everyone around her that they were never alone. Her door was always open and her kitchen table had a seat for anyone.
Lonna had a passion for plants, and she found joy in the company of her beloved pets, Hector and Gato.
She will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, and her unwavering care for those closest to her.
Lonna was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Dee Knight, her brother Ray Knight Jr. and her husband Mike Fox.
She is survived by her children, Sarah Koke and her husband Dave Westphal, and Ehrin Fox of Missoula; her sister, Karen and her husband Larry Rich of Roosevelt, Utah; her brother Scott Knight and his wife Pam of Troy, Montana; along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
