MISSOULA ~ Melvin Christensen was born on December 15, 1964, to Kenneth Christensen and Beverly Dorn. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 29, 2026.
For more than 35 years, Melvin worked for Brady and Cindy Nelson through AAA Construction. The Christensen family considered Brady, Cindy, and their children Lewis, Luke, and Brady Jr. to be family. Melvin was Brady’s right-hand man and one of his closest friends. He was the person Brady could always count on to operate heavy equipment, tackle the toughest jobs, and get the work done.
Above all else, Melvin cherished time spent with his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping trips with his children and grandchildren whenever he had the opportunity. He was proud of his family and never missed a chance to tell them how much he loved them.
Melvin will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his loyalty to those he loved, his sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Melvin leaves behind his beloved wife, Debbie Christensen of 43 years. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Kenny (Kelli) Christensen and Benny (Jackie) Christensen. He also lovingly helped raise two beautiful daughters as his own, Jennifer (Bradley) Lathom and Misty (Rocky) Lathom.
Melvin was a proud grandfather to Tyler, Tanner, Camilla, Carson, Makayla, Jesse, and Jazz, and great-grandson Kyler.
He is also survived by his stepmother, Marilyn Christensen; his sisters, Karen Griffiths and Dawn Christensen; brothers, Ryan Christensen, James Patrick, Scott Patrick, Mark Patrick and many nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Christensen; his mother, Beverly Dorn; and his brothers and sister, Rod, John, Duane, and Michelle.
Melvin also leaves behind many dear friends who were like family, including Rory McDonald, Joe Hanson, and Jimmy Hendrickson.
