Obituary for Robert Charles "Rob" Tripp

Robert (Robbie) Charles Tripp
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 These words describe well Robert Charles Tripp, age 54, who died too young in an accident on Sunday September 4, 2016, driving the semi-truck he loved.
Rob was born on September 25,1961 to Lyle and Dorothy Tripp in Missoula Montana where he grew up. He attended Target Range Elementary School and graduated from Hellgate High School in 1980.

As a young man, Rob worked at Marchie’s Nursery, in high rise construction, welding and fabrication, and as a diesel mechanic. Following in the footsteps of the Tripp family, Rob began his nearly 20 years in the trucking industry. Most recently, Rob started Draggin Waggin Inc as an owner operator leased to Holland Trucking. He loved his work.

In the early 80’s Rob married Sue Hanson. They had three daughters, Jessica, Jennifer, and Nicole and 4 grandchildren.

On November 24, 2012, in Winnemucca, Nevada, Rob married his first and last love, Elaine Rosenbaum Tripp. Rob and Elaine were junior high sweethearts. They reconnected at a rock concert in Salt Lake City in June of that year. With Elaine’s love came 6 new children and their spouses and a total of 9 more grandchildren whom Rob loved as his own. They returned his love, embracing “Grampy” right along with Grammy. No doubt Grampy will be celebrating the arrival of his newest granddaughter who is to be born later this month.

Rob loved music. He started playing in a band in Jr. High and continued to play throughout his life. He attended concerts whenever he could. Rob loved his work, time with family and friends, spending time at the lake, especially waterskiing, the Dallas Cowboys and cherished his time with his grandbabies. With his deep faith and love for his Lord Jesus Christ, Rob overcame many trials and lived with a positive attitude, opening his heart to everyone he met. Rob’s glass was always “half full”. He was a light to all who knew him and with that same spirit Rob donated his corneas to people in need.

Rob Tripp is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Rosenbaum), 3 children, 6 step-children, 13 grandchildren, his parents, Lyle and Dorothy Tripp of Missoula, 2 brothers Chris (Marlene) Tripp and Bill (Laura) Tripp, 1 sister, Julie Tripp (Matt Gooley) and 5 nieces and nephews all of Missoula. Rob is also loved by in-laws, Bruce and Sheryl (Rosenbaum) Bousu, Mark and Stacy (Thrapp) Rosenbaum, Mike and Theresa (Rosenbaum) Mavity and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a great niece. Rob was much loved and will be missed.

Rob was preceded in death by a wife Charlene Brown Tripp and grandparents Chris and Helen Sayler and Charlie and Leota Tripp.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at a memorial service on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2205 34th St, Missoula, MT.
