Obituary for Warren W "Bud" Danforth

Warren (Bud) was born in Fishtail, MT on March 2, 1922 to Myron and Mabel Danforth. He attended schools in Fishtail and Absarokee, MT. Bud was sworn into the the U.S. Marine Corps on August 24, 1940 and was discharged on February 9, 1947. He served in WWII in the South Pacific. He married Bernice Yates July 31, 1948 in Reed Point, MT. They lived in Fishtail and moved to the Frenchtown area (with electricity and plumbing) in March of 1951. They purchased a farm raising cattle, sheep, and crops. Bud worked the farm and also worked at the feed mill in Missoula until Hoerner Waldorf opened the paper mill. He went to work for the paper mill when it opened and continued to run the farm. They moved to Lolo in 1974. He retired from Champion in 1984. Bernice, his wife of 66 years, preceded him in death in July of 2014. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Florence McClure and Dorothy Ford, and a son, Dan Danforth. He is survived by his children: Dee and Chuck Glessner, Diane and Brad Terrell, Susie Ness, daughter-in-law Kathy Danforth; and grandchildren: Chris and Amy Danforth, Tony and Gretchen Danforth, Cammie and Colter Brice, Tim and Heather Danforth, Ashley Danforth, Soni and Doug Bryant, Nathan and Jessica Glessner, Jonathan Glessner, Erica and Kelly Kimbrell, Courtney and Reese Bradburn, Jennifer and Brad Morse, Nicki Terrell, Stacey and Taner Sorge, Stacy Atkins, Dustin Atkins, Jennifer and Jason Palmer, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Dorothy Danforth.

He loved working in his yard and flower garden, enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing and traveling in the United States.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m at the Lolo Community Church, 11897 Lewis and Clark Drive, Lolo, MT 59847.
